An adaptable bit; the lower of the three rings produces more leverage if required. The mouth is made of many links making it difficult to lean against. Fit ãâ - ãâ wider than usual as the mouthpiece needs to curl slightly around the lips for full potential. Sweet iron makes the bit very palatable and encourages salivation and softening. Mouthpiece thickness: 16mm. Cheek height: 145mm (4.5 - 5); 180mm (5.5 - 6). Sweet iron mouthpieces are designed to oxidize to produce a sweet taste which helps with mouthing. The addition of copper to the mouth ensures the horse will not take up too much of a contact; ideal for horses that can take a hold.
